House-Museum of K.I. Chukovsky

142783, Moscow region, Leninsky district (Kiev railway), the town of writers "Peredelkino", Serafimovich str., 3

About the company:

The house-museum is located in the writer’s village of Peredelkino, which was built in the mid-1930s and is a typical example of a country cottage of that time. The interior of the house, in which Korney Chukovsky lived since 1938, after his death was preserved by the writer’s daughter Lydia Korneevna and his granddaughter Elena Cesarevna Chukovsky.

They also became the first guides to the memorial exposition. Since 1994, after two years of restoration, the Chukovsky House has become one of the branches (now departments) of the State Literary Museum. Its first head was an outstanding sound-archivist, literary critic Lev Shilov (1932-2004).
