State Museum named after M. A. Bulgakov
Big Garden Street, 10, 4 et., Moscow
About the company:
Bulgakov State Museum is the only official museum in Russia dedicated to the writer’s work.
The museum was opened in March 2007. The opening of the museum was the first Moscow address of Bulgakov, where he settled in the autumn of 1921. The exposition of the museum is based on the collections of the nieces of the writer V.M. Svetlanova and E.A. Zemskaya. The M.A. Bulgakov Foundation also participated in the creation of the museum. In 2010, the museum received items of furniture and things from the writer’s apartment, located in Nashchokinsky Lane.
The image of the apartment is used by the author in his works. Bulgakov immortalized her in the novel “The Master and Margarita”. It was this apartment that became the prototype of the “bad apartment”, where the ball was held at Satan.
The museum constantly holds exhibitions, concerts, literary evenings.
