Memorial Museum-Apartment of A.M.Vasnetsov

Since 1986, the All-Union (since 1994 - All-Russian) Museum Association "State Tretyakov Gallery" includes the Museum-Apartment of Apollinari Mikhailovich Vasnetsov. It is located in Furmanny Lane, in house 6. Here, in apartment 21 on the third floor, the artist spent the last 30 years of his life. The idea of the museum arose in 1956, when the centenary of the painter was celebrated. The idea was implemented with the support and participation of his family. The son of the artist V.A. Vasnetsov provided the exposition with several rooms, including a workshop. As a gift to the museum, they were given paintings, sketches, drawings, furniture made according to the drawings of their father, memorial items, books, documents - only about 2 thousand things. In 1965, the museum-apartment of A.M. Vasnetsov was opened for visitors.

Today, the museum has expanded its area, it occupies two apartments on one staircase. The exposition, deployed in the apartment opposite, represents different stages and facets of the artist’s work. A special section is devoted to the beginning of the creative path of the master. The landscapes on the walls of the museum are distinguished by an amazing variety of themes, motives and moods. The works, even at small sizes, retaining an epic scope ("The Gloomy Day", 1919), are adjacent to the canvases depicting the corners of Moscow with its ancient architectural structures ("The Rotunda Milovide". The collection of the museum contains more than 9 thousand exhibits, including about 200 paintings and more than 1000 graphic works.

In the former apartment of the artist, three memorial rooms were restored - an office, a living room, a workshop. Not only are there things, but the atmosphere at home. On the easel in the workshop is the last completed painting by A.M. Vasnetsov “The Noise of the Old Park”.

The museum not only collects and preserves the creative heritage of the artist, but also conducts a great educational work. In addition to excursions, the museum-apartment hosts traditional "Vasnetsov evenings", organized music and art lecture "Visiting Apollinari Vasnetsov".
