Memorial Museum-Apartment E.F. Gnesina

The museum fully preserves the memorial atmosphere of the apartment, archive and library of El.F. Gnesina (1874-1967) - the founder and - for 72 years - the head of the Gnessin complex of educational institutions: a school, two schools and an institute. Materials for the hundred-year period are presented: about the activities of the legendary musician and teacher El.F. Gnesina, about the Gnessin family - outstanding musicians who created a unique Russian system of music education; about the history of Gnessin educational institutions and their outstanding representatives; about the Gnessin circle of communication, which included many of the largest cultural figures. The museum hosts: excursions; creative meetings - concerts, lectures, meetings with schoolchildren, conferences, listening to sound recordings, remembrance evenings. The history of Russian music, music education and pedagogy, Russian culture (especially the turn of the XIX-XX centuries) is richly reflected in the exposition (photographs, painting and sculpture, memorial items) and in the museum funds (epistolary, documents, concert programs, visual materials, manuscripts, audio recordings, unique publications).
