About the company:

The main exposition is devoted to the life and work of K. G. Paustovsky and is located on the first floor of the building. Here are collected memorial items, manuscripts, unique photos, books with autographs. On the second floor of the mansion there are thematic exhibitions. Since November 1975 - the date of formation - the museum has passed all stages: amateur - school, folk, state. The oldest son of the writer, Vadim Konstantinovich Paustovsky, collaborated with the museum until his death in 2000. The museum is not a memorial, but its surroundings (landscape and historical), as well as the architecture of the wooden building in which it is located, surprisingly and accurately coincide with the general structure of K. Paustovsky’s works. Visitors to the museum of different ages. The museum has many friends, researchers and admirers not only in Moscow and other Russian cities and villages, but also in many foreign countries with which the museum actively corresponds: in Ukraine, Georgia, the Baltic States, England, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Eastern Europe, North and South America, China, Taiwan, Japan, etc. The museum conducts scientific work, publishes not only scientific works and scientifically commented works of the writer, but also a dictionary of the language in 8 volumes, as well as its museum 200-page illustrated journal Paustovsky’s World, almost the only one of its kind in Russia. The building occupied by the museum is a monument of wooden architecture of the XVIII century (1798). It was built for the manor gardener and has survived under the name of the gardener's wing. Then several times died, restored and rebuilt, passed from one owner to another. Since the middle of the XIX century, it was surrendered to the townspeople under the dacha for the season and acquired another historical name - "Gray dacha" according to the color of the facade, which remains to this day. Features of the current architecture after the scientific reconstruction in the 80s of the XX century can be approximately and conditionally attributed to the Empire style. Characteristic features of this style can be traced in the decoration of the windows of the eastern facade, three wings, a balcony. The museum is located on the territory of the former estate of one of the branches of the family of princes Golitsyn “Vlahernskoye-Kuzminki”, in a park with a cascade of ponds. Nearby there are to varying degrees recreated and restored buildings of the estate. One of them houses the Museum of Manor Culture (branch of the Museum of History of Moscow). On the territory of the estate there is an active temple of the Vlachersk Icon of the Mother of God, an educational museum of beekeeping, a museum of historical cars.
