Museum-apartment of F.M. Dostoevsky
ooh Dostoevsky, 2, Moscow, 127473
About the company:
The museum is located in a state-owned apartment on the first floor of the northern wing of the former Mariinsky Hospital for the Poor, where the doctor M.A.Dostoevsky, father of F.M.Dostoevsky, served since 1821 (the future writer was born in the southern wing on November 11 of the same year). Here F. M. Dostoevsky spent his childhood and adolescence. The memorial apartment has never been rebuilt, the museum opened in 1928. But it was possible to recreate it only after the repair and restoration works of 1979-82, the Dostoevsky apartment gained a genuine historical entourage and fit into the hospital wing with the restoration of the old layout of the adjacent premises. The accepted historical route introduces into this expressive space: the entrance through the white-stone porch, the corridor and the "cold scents" into the three living rooms overlooking the hospital yard and the street, the former Bogodomka. For the first time, the apartment appeared - in accordance with the description of A. M. Dostoevsky - as a whole and in a residential interior. Memories have been preserved: a table and a bookcase, chandeliers from the living room, books, textbooks of children, family portraits of Dostoevskys; household items of that time, typological, pictorial, book, documentary materials were introduced. In the house of Dostoevsky, which was a kind of social crossroads, there was no single style. The interior of the living room, close to the noble empire, is combined with the merchant atmosphere. The apartment, occupied by a large family of a physician M.A.Dostoevsky, consisted of auxiliary and residential premises, shared by partitions, with a dual purpose: a working hall, or dining room; living room, it is the father's office, part of it behind the partition - the bedroom of the parents, the nursery - part of the hallway. |
