People's Museum of the History of the Moscow Metro
Presnenskaya embankment, 2 (Metro Filevskaya line Exhibition, Moscow, 123100)
About the company:
The Metro Museum was opened in November 1967 by the efforts of enthusiastic veterans of the subway, who collected future exhibits: documents, photographs, samples of various equipment. When creating the funds, materials from the Metro Administration, the State Archive of Film and Photo Documents, the Russian State Library, as well as various equipment withdrawn from service were used. Many documents and individual items were donated to the museum by private individuals. The exposition is designed to fully reveal the history of the creation of the metro and its development to the present time. Unique exhibits demonstrate the labor feat of those who created this engineering and architectural miracle and ensured its functioning. The exposition also presents other thematic sections: "Metropolitan during the Great Patriotic War: transport and bomb shelter", "Metropolitan as an architectural monument", "Commonwealth of subways of Russia, CIS countries and other countries of the world".
