Tretyakov Gallery on the Crimean Val

About the company:

In 1986, the All-Union (since 1994 - All-Russian) Museum Association "State Tretyakov Gallery" was formed. In the building of the Tretyakov Gallery on the Crimean Val there is a permanent exhibition of national art of the twentieth century. The works of world-famous masters of the Russian avant-garde of the 1900-1920s (K.S. Malevich, V.V. Kandinsky, M.Z. Chagall, P.N. Filonov, L.S. Popova) are replaced by works of socialist realism of the 1930s-1950s. Creativity of artists of the “severe style” of the 1960s is demonstrated in parallel with the art of representatives of the “underground”, which marked the beginning of the “second wave” of the Russian avant-garde. The final part of the exhibition, which presents the works of the 1980s-1990s, is fundamentally "open" in nature - the Tretyakov Gallery is ready to replenish its collection with the newest and most relevant works of domestic authors.

In addition, various exhibitions are regularly held in the halls of the Gallery on the Crimean Val: classical and modern art, domestic and foreign masters. Among the major exhibitions held here since 2000 are the exhibitions "Videosculpture from Germany" and "Karl Bryullov". To the 200th anniversary of his birth", "In the circle of Malevich" and "Pierre Soulage. Black Light, Victor Popkov, 1932-1974 and Sound and Image. Music in Russian art. XI-XX centuries.

Since 2002, there is a Children's Creative Workshop in the Tretyakov Gallery on the Crimean Val.
