Taganskaya metro station

Taganskaya metro station is located on the Ring Line (line 5) of the Moscow Metro. It was opened on January 1, 1950 and named after Taganskaya Square. The station is part of a major interchange hub, connecting several metro lines.

Architecture and design

Taganskaya station is made in the style of Stalin's empire. The architects of the station are K. S. Ryzhkov and A. L. Shcheglov. The station is decorated with mosaic panels on the theme of military and labor valor of Soviet people, made by artists G. I. Opryshko and L. A. Novikov. Marble and granite are used in the decoration of the station, which gives it a majestic and solemn appearance.

Location.

The station is located in the center of Moscow, in the Tagansky district, the Central Administrative District. Entrances to the station are located on Taganskaya Square and Big Masons Street.
