Moscow

So different Moscow

Description:

Moscow has always been shrouded in many myths.

The main myth about Moscow says that this city is incredibly crowded, noisy and there is nothing to do there. And if the first part of the myth is true, the second part has nothing to do with reality.

Yes, Moscow is a metropolis, in scope and size with which little can be compared. In order to feel the rhythm of life of a huge modern city, you should come here.

In one trip you will not be able to embrace the immense, no matter how much you want. Moscow is so multifaceted! And she has a unique gift to preserve and multiply all that was given to her for 9 centuries of existence.

Moscow is historical

Walking through historical Moscow is useless. This is the Kremlin, St. Basil’s Cathedral, and China City, and Arbat, and a lot of everything we read about in books, saw in the movies and taught in school in history lessons.

All of Moscow, in fact, is history. The first mention of this city belongs to the XII century. Fortunately, there are many stops with the appearance and atmosphere of the ancient city. And these are not only individual monuments of architecture, but also entire streets, neighborhoods, districts.

Moscow Bulgakov

Who among us has not read the works of Bulgakov? Fans of his talent know that many of Bulgakov’s literary figures settled in Moscow forever. Almost all the heroes of the most famous works of Mikhail Afanasievich had specific historical prototypes – contemporaries, acquaintances, relatives of the writer, so experts of Bulgakov’s work have long determined the exact coordinates of all literary plots.

The legendary “bad apartment” along the Bolshoi Sadovaya, Clean and Patriarchal ponds, the mansion from which Margarita flew to the ball – it is best to wander around Bulgakov’s Moscow on warm summer evenings, or even nights, to feel the mystical atmosphere and mood.

Moscow

There are currently 121 theatres in Moscow. The most famous of them: Big, Small, Taganka Theater, Vakhtangov Theater.

Needless to say, Moscow is a real paradise for the theater, a real opportunity to see the most famous actors of our time in live performances? In addition to theaters, there are 37 concert halls in Moscow. I will not hide that I prefer modern music to classics, so my favorite music halls in Moscow are Luzhniki and the arena of the Olympic sports complex – my friends and I have repeatedly traveled to the capital of Russia for concerts of our favorite foreign bands.

Soviet Moscow

During my childhood, there was probably not a single schoolboy who did not dream of visiting Red Square and seeing Lenin’s Mausoleum. I can say that even now walks in “Soviet Moscow” are surprisingly interesting and informative – at least because of the unique “Stalinist” architecture, as well as classical Soviet monuments – for example, the complex on Poklonnaya Gora or the monument to the Conquerors of Space. Walking around “Soviet Moscow” should definitely include a visit to GUM – a cult store for the entire former USSR! And let you not be repulsed by the grandeur and pomposity of the soviet art samples - after all, such was the bygone era, and better than in Moscow, you will not feel it anywhere.

Moscow merchant

The dashing spirit of generous and rampant Moscow life can be felt best when walking along Donskaya Street – from the city center to the Donskoy Monastery. At the end of the last century, there were no multi-storey buildings here - all merchant mansions. Now there is a merchant museum here. But best of all, you can feel the Moscow merchant, going for lunch in one of the many restaurants with real Russian cuisine.

Of course, the luxury, which so vividly described V.A. Gilyarovsky, no longer find – all these grouse, quail in lingonberry and zestegai long gone into oblivion. However, you will not be hungry! Irina Malysheva
