Enozero

Russia, Murmansk region

Description:

Yonozero is one of the many lakes of the Murmansk region. It is located in the east of the Kola Peninsula. The picturesque lake is connected with the Barents Sea basin flowing from it by the Varzina River. Its total area is about 95 square kilometers (together with the nearby islands – 100), and the catchment area is 982 square kilometers.

Enozero consists of 2 parts, separated by a small strait (with a width of 350 meters). The height above sea level is about 225 meters. The shores are rough, rocky. The lake is fed, usually by melted snow and rainwater.

Fishing is common here. Many tourists-fishers flock here in the hope of catching large fish trout. Wildlife here has become tame - partridges and lemmings are not afraid of people, and deer can be fed with their hands.
