Notozero
Description:
Notozero is one of the many lakes of the Kola Peninsula, lying in the north-west of the Murmansk region. It belongs to the Barents Sea basin and is connected to it by the Tuloma River.
The lake is fed, as a rule, by atmospheric precipitation - snow and rain. The total area is about 79 square kilometers. The depth in some places reaches 15 meters.
From the lake begins the river Tuloma, and the rivers Lotta and Nota flow into it. Since 1965, the lake was used as a support for the Verkhnetulomsk reservoir. As a result, its area increased tenfold – up to 745 square kilometers. On the eastern shore of the lake there is a picturesque view of the Tuadas Tundra mountain ranges.
