Description:

Verkhnetulomskoe Reservoir is a large internal reservoir lying at an altitude of 80 meters on the Kola Peninsula, 60 kilometers from the city of Kola. It is formed, built on Lake Notozero and the Tuloma River by a dam of the same hydroelectric power station.

The lake was already filled in 1965. Its length is 85 meters, and the depth on average is 15 meters. To create the reservoir had to flood about 200 hectares of agricultural land, 60 farms, including the local village of Ristikent. The reservoir performs long-term regulation of runoff.

It is very important and multifunctional. First, the Verkhnetulom Reservoir was created for energy purposes. In addition, it is used for timber and water supply. The reservoir is rich in garius, shig, salmon, trout, pike, which makes it a wonderful place for fishing.

On the shore is located the village of Verkhnetulomsky.

You can go here with your family on vacation or do extreme tourism. The nature of the reservoir is diverse - it is the northern harsh taiga, mountains and numerous islands.

A wonderful place for a picnic and rest. Getting here is not easy – by air or water, there are almost no roads around. Staying alone with wildlife will not hurt you.
