The Russian North is beautiful in summer!

We will go to the Kola Peninsula, surrounded by two seas - Barents and White. This is not a beach holiday with crowds of tourists, this is a unique tour for strong spirits. With all the rigors of Kola, we have prepared the most comfortable journey.

Breathe in the incredible northern air and prepare to admire the contrasts at the edge of the earth!

Tour programme

1 day

We will meet at Murmansk airport at about 09:00.

We will get acquainted and immediately go to the village of Teriberka, located on the shore of the Barents Sea. This is where the filming of Leviathan took place. It is hard to imagine, but thanks to the beauty of nature, this village entered the top 20 best places to travel according to National Geographic magazine.

  • Let's start with trump cards : We are waiting for a sea walk along the bay: salty sea air and northern landscapes are included. If you're lucky, we'll see whales and dolphins.
  • Northern cuisine is special, characteristic. We will go to a restaurant with traditional local dishes, sea delicacies and freshly caught fish.
  • After lunch, we will walk through the most interesting locations of Teriberka, which even sound fascinating: the shore of dragon eggs, the Cemetery of ships and the picturesque Batarei waterfall.
  • In the evening we will return to Murmansk, stay in the hotel Expedition 3*, have dinner and go to gain strength for tomorrow.

2 days

The second day of our adventure we dedicated to the Kola Mars – the so-called Lovoser tundra, one of the most striking sights of the Kola Peninsula.

  • Take the car to Mount Alluive and the Geologists Pass - a real place of power! We will walk along the plateau, lined with stones, and refresh ourselves with a hiking lunch with an incredible view.
  • The next stop is the Museum in Kirovsk, popularly called the Museum of Stone. It just sounds simple: in fact, we are waiting for unique finds and the history of the origin of rocks, sparkling amethyst brushes, brilliant mica, amazing astrophilites, products made of hibinite, which is found only on the Kola Peninsula.
  • In the evening we will settle in the sanatorium Tirvas in double rooms. Those who wish can visit the pool, go to the gym or ride bicycles. We'll exchange impressions over dinner.
  • And a beautiful view from the room on the Khibiny will be a great bonus in the evening over a glass of tea (or not tea) or in the morning after bidding.

3 days

As the song goes, “Only mountains can be better than mountains.” Tighten your sneakers more comfortable, we are waiting for another peak - Khibiny.

  • "Khibiny" from Sami translates literally - "mountains". This is one of the oldest mountains on the planet, they were formed about 350 million years ago. For comparison, the Caucasus Mountains are about 25 million years old, they are literally teenagers in the world of mountains! The Khibinsky reach a maximum height of 1200 meters and will appear to us today in all its glory. If you used to know about dwarf trees and lichens only from biology lessons, now you can see and touch them.
  • We are waiting for the valley of the river Kuniyok, Mount Kuelpore, Beautiful waterfall, the base of the Ministry of Emergency Situations by car.
  • A little trekking light on South Chorgor will not distract you from the views. Harsh northern beauty, hiking snack and good company – what else do you need for a good day?
  • In the evening we will return to our rooms and discuss the highlights of the day.

4 days

Another facet of the Russian North is the White Sea, amazing and mysterious. On its banks, petroglyphs and stone labyrinths are found, and the reservoir itself, like a giant magnet, attracts the water of the surrounding rivers. Due to this, the salinity of the sea decreases, and in the mouths at each tide increases. What other secrets does this place hold?

  • On the Terek bank of the river we will go to the authentic place “Tonya Tetrina”. Surprisingly, people lived here beyond the Arctic Circle for another 3-2 thousand years before our era (as scientists determined). They were fishermen and hunters of marine animals.
  • On the way, be sure to consider the contrasts and transitions of flora and landscape, enjoy the landscapes of the forest with a huge number of northern berries and mushrooms.
  • In the tone of Tetrina there are few blessings of civilization - there is no light, communication and the Internet! That sounds good. : Every thing and detail is imbued with history, and the atmosphere is not conveyed by any photo or video. You need to feel this, so here we organize a night stop.
  • But first we are waiting for a tour of the exposition of the open-air museum “Tonya Tetrina”. We will see unusual exhibits: a vat for salt evaporation, and pitchforks - large for algae, small for seaworms, and a real walrus horseradish! : There is an incredible number of old boats, because fishermen, following the beliefs, they were never thrown out or destroyed - in tribute, they left to live out their lives in tone.
  • To sleep soundly, be sure to dine with a fresh ear of red fish, listen to the noise of the sea, steam in the bath, visit a tent with a special bath with kelp and fall asleep in simple houses - without comforts, but with a history that makes this place some incredibly native and pleasant!

5 days

We are waiting for a morning beyond the Arctic Circle away from the blessings of civilization and an impressive day.

  • Let’s start with a breakfast with a breathtaking view and sea breeze. Say goodbye to this amazing autistic place and get on the road.
  • Discover the mystery of the labyrinth of Babylon
  • Visit the Museum "Petroglyphs of Kanozera" in Umba village
  • The next point of the trip is Kolvitsky waterfall in Kandalaksha. The waterfall, or as it is also called the Black Padun, is famous for the fact that the hand of nature here was created a real landmark - a river threshold that divides the river into two arms.
  • Finally, we will return to Murmansk and, alas, we will say goodbye. We will take you to the airport or hotel if you want to stay in the quaint Russian North, exchange contacts and photos, hug and look forward to waiting for you on new trips.
