On April 29, 1988, the Museum and Exhibition Center was opened in Nadym. In 1988-89, the formation of the fund began: 113 works came from Tyumen, 11 from Salekhard (painting, graphics, sculpture). IEC cooperated with Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tyumen, Tobolsk, Kirov, Kaliningrad, but in recent years it became increasingly difficult to finance, and exhibitions were compiled on local material. Since 1997, a class of miniature lacquer painting has been opened (teacher Mickiewicz N.M. - artist of the IEC). Since 1997, reconnaissance studies and excavations of the archaeological monument "Nadymskoe settlement" began. The research results speak about the uniqueness of the monument, scientists compare it with the discoveries of Ancient Novgorod. Dendrochronological studies have shown that the beginning of the functioning of the settlement is the end of the XI century. Permafrost provides excellent preservation of organic matter: wood, skin, fabric. The cultural layer of the settlement is replete with various finds of mammoth bone, iron, bronze, copper - jewelry, arrowheads, handles and blades of knives, sabers, spoons, birch bark and wooden dishes, children's toys, bird whistles, boards from Russian sailing ships-kochi. In 1999, on March 12, the first hall of the archaeological monument "Nadymskoe settlement" was opened in the IEC. At the moment, we are reorganizing the IEC into a museum of history and archaeology. |
