Naro-Fominsk

Lubanovo Manor

Lyubanovo, Naro-Fominsky district, Moscow region

Description:

To date, the building does not resemble a manor. Now there is a rural school, which both can and maintains the former beauty of the historical monument, which is made in the style of neoclassicism with modern elements.

But before it was one of the richest houses in the suburbs. The first owner of Lubanovo was K.I. Chartorizhsky. There are chronicles where he is described as a despot. Chartorizhsky cruelly treated his serfs. In the basement walls of his estate found walled up skeletons of mutilated people. The noble family of tyrant and monster lived in the estate until 1881. Then the estate passed to the secret adviser V.K. Schlippe. But he didn't live long on the estate. Schlippe was repressed in Germany in 1917.

Two years later, the estate was visited by F. E. Dzerzhinsky. The head of the All-Russian Cheka, together with his family, was placed in Lyubanovo to improve his health during his vacation. Felix Edmundovich enjoyed nature, trained to shoot a revolver, hunted and took boat trips along the Nara River. This is confirmed by a memorial plaque attached to the wall of the manor house.
