Description:

Petrovsky Estate (Knyazhichevo) is a unique manor ensemble and a luxurious estate in the past, unfortunately, experiencing not the best times now, but nevertheless worthy of attention. There is still no unambiguous opinion about the authorship of the estate, the names of such architects as Bazhenov, Kazakov, Starov, Lviv are heard in disputes.

In the XVIII century, the estate passed into the possession of N. A. Demidov and it was under him that it received its heyday. Brick two-storey house in the style of classicism, sculpture of Catherine II, cast-iron sphinxes, all this amazed with its beauty and harmony.

On the territory of the estate was also built the Church of Peter the Metropolitan and a detached bell tower, which in 1930 were closed and converted into production buildings.

There is a legend that the estate in the village of Petrovsky was visited by Empress Catherine II, and A.S. Pushkin stayed several times.
