Naro-Fominsk

Savior Kosica Manor

Moscow region, Naro-Fominsky district, Spas-Kositsa estate

Description:

The estate of Spas-Kositsa is an architectural monument near Moscow, which is located away from the road and belongs to the ancient estate of the Shuvalovs, created in the middle of the XVIII century.

The pearl of the estate is a magnificent temple complex, built presumably by K.I. Blanc. The complex consists of a four-pillar five-domed temple of the Transfiguration of the Lord, a three-tiered bell tower in the Elizabethan Baroque style. The buildings themselves impress with their pediments and pilasters, very beautiful arched and oval windows and many other decorative elements.

The Transfiguration Church has been preserved and is active, not far from the estate is the Pafnuthevo-Borovsky Monastery, although there is no direct road to it.
