Neftekam Historical and Local Lore Museum

The history of the Neftekam Historical and Local History Museum began in 1967. By the decision of the Executive Committee of the Neftekamsk City Council of Workers’ Deputies, a small room with an area of 128 square meters on Jubilee Avenue, 6, was allocated for the local history museum.
The origins of the museum were workers of culture and education: Mullagaleev A.Kh., Mylnikov N.T., Ganshin T.A., Sazonov A.I., Sherstobitov N.L., Pyatov A.V., Khokryakov A.P., Alexeyev B.M., Vorobyov F.K. The local historians Brednev F.D., Sharipov F.Y. are of great help in the work of the museum today.
In 1991, the museum moved to a more spacious room at 42/b Komsomolsky Avenue and received the status of a local history museum.
Since April 1, 1994, the Neftekam Museum of Local History has become a branch of the National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
In January 2007, the museum became a municipal institution of the department.

In October 2007, by order of the head of the administration, it was decided to allocate a new room for the museum. On September 6, 2008, the museum opened its new halls to visitors. The opening ceremony was attended by Prime Minister of the Republic of Bashkortostan R.S. Sarbayev and other officials.
The museum is located in the city center at the address: Lenin Street, house 17. More than 8 thousand monuments of material and spiritual culture are stored in the expositions of the museum. The total area of the museum is 1837.8 square meters. Modern design, convenient location of rich exhibition halls, cozy lobby create a favorable atmosphere for visitors.
The museum has five exhibition halls with a total area of 980 square meters. In the hall “Paleontology and Archaeology” there are bones of large animals of the Quaternary period – mammoths and buffaloes. In the showcases are exhibited materials of archaeological excavations, which were made on the territory of Krasnokamsk and Dyurtyulin districts. The expressive panorama of the primitive parking in combination with the exhibits is of great interest to visitors.
Rich and diverse exposition of the hall "Nature and animal world". Picturesque dioramas of pine and mixed forests with stuffed animals clearly show the richest flora and fauna of the region. Dioramas are presented by seasons. Here visitors can see stuffed 55 animals, including listed in the Red Book. On 11 tablets scientific and educational material is decorated.
Hall "Ethnography of the Peoples of the Republic of Bashkortostan" covers an area of 144 square meters. Features of life Bashkirs reveals art panel, household items and culture. Weaving is richly represented in the exposition (palaces and sharshau with different ornaments). Bashkir yurt and nomads allow you to get an idea of the life of the Bashkirs of the XIX-early XX centuries.
The artistic panorama of the Tatar village and the hut introduces the culture, life, economy of the Tatars living in the territory of the region. The exhibition presents more than 90 exhibits. These are utensils, household items, tools, clothes.
Originally, in the form of a Russian fair, it is presented in the museum of life of the Russian people. In this exposition there is a whole collection of various household items:
samovars, irons, watches, mirrors, dishes and much more. In the windows there are homespun clothes of the XIX century. On the tablets there are materials about the family of the merchant Gavrila Vechtmov, who was engaged in charity (late XIX century) and played an important role in the development of the culture of the Kasevsky volost. Interesting material about a visit to the village of Kasevo, the village of Maryino in 1910 and 1914 by Grand Duchess Elizabeth Fedorovna Romanova.
The rich exposition reveals the features of the economy, culture, life of the Mari people. There is a large collection of national clothes, towels, tools, household items that were collected during the expedition to the nearby Mari villages.
Our region is rich in fighting traditions. In the first years of Soviet power on the territory of the villages of Nikolo-Berezovka and Kasevo were fierce fighting. The names of Fyodor Vorobyov and Peter Syutkin are associated with the history of the liberation of our region from the White Guards, the final establishment of Soviet power. Their biographies, memories of them are carefully stored in the local history museum.
Hall "Combat Glory" occupies a central position in the museum, there are photo portraits of war veterans, lists of awarded orders and medals. In the showcases - awards and award certificates, letters of thanks, front-line correspondence, personal belongings of war participants, models of weapons. Rich material is presented about the young people of Bashkiria.
The 45-year history of the city is presented to visitors of the museum by the Hall “History of Neftekamsk” with an area of 223.5 square meters.
The central place is occupied by the diorama “Oilmen of Big Arlan”, which transports visitors to the 50s of the XX century.
The expositions of the hall present material about large town-forming enterprises: OJSC ANK Bashneft, Bashneft-Yanaul (NSDU Arlanneft), OJSC NefAZ, OJSC Iskozh, Karmanovskaya GRES, OJSC NZNO, OJSC Bashneftepromstroy, OJSC Belkamneft, OJSC Amzinsky Lesombinat.
The city museum is a carrier of history, culture, traditions of the peoples of the region. The museum has a center of public national associations, whose task is to search for and preserve national traditions, coordinate the activities of national centers: the Executive Committee of the Kurultai Bashkir, the Russian Cathedral, the Tatar national and cultural association, the Mari public center.

The museum has two exhibition halls. In the large hall, monthly exhibitions of paintings, applied arts, photographic works are held.
In the second hall, thematic exhibitions dedicated to anniversary dates, events of the year are organized.
The museum has a lecture hall equipped with modern technology, which allows for bright and meaningful events on the history and culture of the region.
