Nizhny Novgorod Puppet Theatre was founded in 1929 by the Yavorsky couple and is located in a building built in 1912 by architect Shekhtel. This building is recognized as an architectural monument of Nizhny Novgorod. It is located in the historical part of the city.
The auditorium of the puppet theater accommodates about 380 visitors. The title of “State Academic” Theatre was awarded in 1997. During its existence, more than 320 performances on various topics were staged here. Currently, the troupe of the theater has 17 people, many of them are honored figures of Russia.
