Large tour of the Kremlin

The Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin is the oldest monument in the city, a unique fortress that has no analogues either among Russians or among European defense structures. Built at the beginning of the XVI century, the Kremlin experienced numerous battles and sieges, its walls saw the most important characters of Russian history, and its territory became home to interesting monuments of various eras and styles.

Today, the Kremlin is the cultural and administrative center of Nizhny, attracting both citizens and numerous guests of the city. Including because its observation decks offer breathtaking views of the Strelka – a landmark place where the Oka meets the Volga.

During our tour, we:

Walk around and around the Kremlin;

We will talk about the walls and towers of the Kremlin, about how the inhabitants of the city built and defended their fortress.

We will try to solve the puzzles associated with the construction of the Kremlin and with the names of famous architects and inventors who influenced its architecture.

- go to the Michael-Arkhangelsk Cathedral - the oldest temple of the city, where the ashes of Kozma Minin rest;

- take a close look at the monuments of various eras both inside and outside the fortress: the monument to Chkalov and the staircase of the same name, temples and stone chambers of Zapochainya, the territory of the former Nizhny Novgorod Fair;

Talk about the myths and legends surrounding the Kremlin and try to separate truth from fiction.

- and, of course, we will admire Strelka - the business card of Nizhny Novgorod, the meeting place of the Oka and the Volga.

The tour will be accompanied by a variety of illustrations that will allow us to better understand the past and present of the famous fortress.

In the warm season, the tour may include a walk along the wall of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin.
