What's that name for? It's very simple. Beyond Pochain, beyond the river, which has long been gone, or rather, it flows in a pipe underground in the Pochainsky ravine and flows into the Volga. The territory of Zapochainya was settled already in the 13-14 centuries. These places were chosen by the diggers, and then the merchants pushed them away to the outskirts of the city. It is here that the largest number of historical monuments of Nizhny Novgorod are concentrated. In Zapochainje you will see white-stone chambers and a unique Assumption Church of the 17th century. Ilyinskaya Street, the former merchant, quiet and solid, breathes antiquity. Majestic temples, miraculously preserved their murals and shrines, tower over ancient houses with carved caskets and richly decorated facades. And also - luxurious views from the Fedorovsky embankment, where pedestrian bridges are thrown between the hills.
