Makarievsky Yellow Monastery - the most beautiful monastery on the Volga

Holy Trinity Makarievsky Zheltovodsky Monastery is one of the most unique and oldest Russian Orthodox monasteries, founded in the distant 1435 by the great Orthodox Saint Makariy Zheltovodsky and Unzhsky. It was under its walls for many centuries was located one of the most famous fairs in Russia - Makarievskaya. On the territory of the monastery we will visit its ancient temples, including the main Holy Trinity Cathedral with its only preserved on the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod region ancient Russian frescoes of the 17th century.
