Nizhny Novgorod

The Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin is the heart of the Lower.

Description:

In the summer of 1221, Grand Duke Yuri Vsevolodovich laid the city on the mouth of the Oka and named it Novgrad Nizhny.

It became a stronghold city, a guardian on the eastern borders of Vladimir-Suzdal Rus. Nizhny Novgorod arose on the Volga-Oka node of a powerful trade route. And on the banks of the reserved Volga, East and West saw each other firsthand.

The heart of Nizhny is its legendary Kremlin. For the first 300 years, the town was wooden. Many difficult trials fell on his fate: he survived many enemy sieges, several times was completely ruined and burned. But despite everything, Nizhny Novgorod restored it every time again and again. But the stone Kremlin, which is 500 years old, no one managed to take.

Ilya Repin said wonderfully about my countrymen: “These strong people of a good breed, so knew how to appreciate life ... These people did not like to settle somewhere and somehow ...”

Every imprint, scar, scar on the heart of the Lower is a landmark of the whole city. I invite you to learn the history of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin from its foundation to the present day.

In 2001, UNESCO awarded the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin the status of a monument of world significance.

I will tell you everything, I will show you everything, it will be interesting.
