Annunciation Cathedral
Description:
Annunciation Monastery is the oldest monastery in Nizhny Novgorod. Located in the Nizhny Novgorod district, on the right bank of the Oka near its confluence into the Volga. The monastery was founded by the Grand Prince of Vladimir-Suzdal Yuri Vsevolodovich and St. Simon, Bishop of Vladimir, in 1221 at the foundation of Nizhny Novgorod.
