Church of Sergius of Radonezh
East street, 93, Dalkonstantinovsky district, Tepelevo village, Nizhny Novgorod region
Description:
The temple of St. Sergius of Radonezh in Nizhny Novgorod belongs to the Nizhny Novgorod delicacy and the Nizhny Novgorod diocese of the ROC. Consecrated in 1869, the building, made in a pseudo-Russian architectural style, is located on Sergievskaya Street, 25A. A fully equipped bell tower with twelve bells installed, the largest of which weighs four tons, appeared a little less than fifteen years ago.
An interesting fact is that during the Soviet era, the temple served as the seat of the Union of Artists. Only after the re-consecration of the temple, it was decided to celebrate the first Divine Liturgy in the presence of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev. Today the temple has an icon with a particle of the holy relics of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
