Gorky Sea

Nizhny Novgorod, Russia

Description:

The Gorky Sea became known as the sea due to its size, storms and waves, whose height can sometimes reach more than two meters.

The reservoir began to fill in the early second half of the XX century. The approximate height at sea level is about 84 meters. The picturesque shores surrounding the reservoir and the wild animals living in the surrounding forests complement this place with harmony.

The greatest depth of the sea is about twenty-two meters, and the average is only three and a half meters.

The reservoir was designed not only for mass fishing, but also for recreation, so on the coastal beaches in some places there are special zones.

You can get to these places by train, bus or personal car.
