Chapel in the Name of the Icon of God
Description:
The temple-chapel in the name of the Icon of God is a wooden church building built as a church. It is now used as a chapel for rare festive prayers.
The Orthodox chapel is a church building, mostly always a detached building. It is a small building that does not have a special place for the altar. This is a kind of prayer ("home church") - a room for worship, reading prayers, not intended for the Liturgy. Chapels were erected in places where a place for public and private prayer was needed, in places where miraculous icons and springs appeared.
Local residents celebrate the day of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God - the most revered icon among the Russian Church, the celebration takes place on July 6, a procession is made from the church in the village of Vladimir to Svetloyar. The course ends with a prayer service at the temple of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God on the lake.
