Karpov church

Russia, 603058, Nizhny Novgorod, St. Suzdalskaya, 58

Description:

On the picturesque left bank of the Oka In Nizhny Novgorod there is the Karpov Church, which is also called the Spaso-Preobrazhenskaya.

This is one of the local city temples, which continued its real activity during the Soviet era. His story is quite curious. In 1722, Bishop Pitirim gave direct instructions to build a church in Karpovka. It was built quickly, but it was chopped and survived two fires. After these disasters in 1817 was built a stone temple three-thrones. He was consecrated by Bishop Moses.

However, this building could not be saved from the fire. In the middle of the nineteenth century, he again suffered greatly. But by the efforts of the trustees of the Vyakhirevs, the temple was rebuilt again and took almost its current form.

Today in the Karpov church there are regular services and Sunday school. And not only for children, but for adults.

You can get here by several shuttle buses and taxis. The stop corresponds to the name of the church.
