Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University named after R. E. Alekseev is a prestigious higher institution of the region.

The history of the university has been going on since 1896 simultaneously with the opening of the All-Russian Industrial and Art Exhibition. It was then that the city authorities, the public and industrialists of Nizhny Novgorod appealed to the authorities with a request to open a technical university in the city.
