The Nizhny Novgorod State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after A.S. Pushkin dates back to 1935. The most important event in the cultural life of the city was the opening in 1986 of the First All-Russian Pushkin Festival of Opera and Ballet Art "Boldin Autumn".In the "golden fund" of the Pushkin repertoire, masterpieces of P. Tchaikovsky, A. Dorgomyzhsky are carefully stored. M. Musorsky, S. Rachmaninova.
