Monument to M. Gorky on Fedorovsky embankment

Nizhny Novgorod, Fedorovsky embankment

Description:

The best observation deck of Nizhny Novgorod is considered Fedorovsky embankment. From it, the city as if in the palm of your hand - you can see Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Kanavinsky Bridge, beautiful landscapes and green slopes.

The name of the embankment was in honor of N. M. Fedorovsky, a famous scientist in the USSR. A walk along the embankment will help to look at all the main attractions of the city. These are the Ilyinsk Church, the Radius House, the Lomonosov School, the monument to M. Gorky, the monument to Jules Verne.

The street appeared thanks to Emperor Nicholas I. The beauty of the Volga, in his opinion, spoiled the unkempt territory. Began improvement, which Nicholas I personally controlled. Now the embankment has been replenished with houses, hotels. Terraces are placed, flowers are planted.
