Monument to Railway Wars
Russia, Nizhny Novgorod, microdistrict Sortirovnogo.
Description:
In 1975, before the holiday of May 9, in the square, opposite the House of Culture of Railway Workers, a plate with a memorial plaque was installed, and on May 9, 1985, a monument was opened to soldiers - railway workers who died defending the Motherland during the Great Patriotic War.
The monument to soldiers-railway workers is a rather specific sculpture - a railwayman with a hammer in his hands against the background of blown up rails. Now every year on the Day of the Railwayman and on May 9 to the foot of the monument and to the Eternal Fire, citizens and guests of the city bring live flowers in memory of the fallen soldiers.
