The Cathedral of the Vladimir Mother of God
d. Nizhny Novgorod, street. Gordeevskaya, 141
Description:
The Cathedral of the Vladimir Mother of God is a brick church with three thrones: the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God, the Intercession of the Most Holy Mother of God and Nicholas the Wonderworker. The new church replaced the old wooden church with Makarievsky and Nikolsky aisles.
The cathedral was built according to the project of Fedorov in 1907 in the eclectic style. Services in the rebuilt and three times consecrated temple were conducted until 1926. In Soviet times, the temple was turned into a bread factory. After the return of the church of the Nizhny Novgorod diocese in 1998, the cathedral is actively restored. In 1997, a Sunday school was opened at the temple, where the vocal ensemble "Golden Domes" and the children's theater "Ark" work.
You can get to the cathedral from the Moscow station by trams number 6 and 7.
