The Holy Gate with the Gate Church of Michael the Archangel

The Holy Gate is considered to be the ceremonial part of the architectural buildings of the Zheltovodsky Trinity convent. The structure was erected in 1670 as part of the main entrance to the monastery. This structure was built with the help of the famous sculpture of Athanasius Fomin at that time.

The gates have a rectangular shape, a through arch was built into them. This arch has iron edging and carved doors. The gate stands on a rectangle-shaped surface.

It is a platform originally built to support the entire structure. In the early centuries, the church had only one head. But in the 17th and 18th centuries, four more tops were added to the existing chapter. At the same time, the architects destroyed all the outside cover, created a gallery. A stone entrance was added. And in the 21st century, many people visit the Makariev monastery. Today it is considered part of Russian cultural heritage.

Walking the way

Any visitor can walk to the monastery. It is only 520 meters from Kirillov’s gas station.

The bus.

There is also an opportunity to go by bus. In the city of Kirillov there are buses to the monastery gate. They perform every day from five thirty in the morning to seven in the evening.
