State Historical and Art Museum "Big Murashkino"

Historical and Art Museum "Big Murashkino" has been operating since September 1, 1962. More than 11 thousand items are presented in the exposition collections of the museum and make up its main fund.

Created on a voluntary basis, since 1990 the museum has the status of a state museum. In 1978, a merchant mansion, buildings of the early XX century, a monument of the historical and cultural heritage of the Nizhny Novgorod region was given to the museum.

Of particular interest to museum guests is the exposition of bones, tusks and teeth of mammoths found in the area. In other thematic halls there are weapons of the time of Stepan Razin (core, brush), a bomb of the Second World War, German and Soviet uniforms. The museum also has a lot of materials on the life and life of merchants with a specially equipped “merchant room”.
