The Nizhny Novgorod-Bor cable car is a cable car crossing the Volga between two cities. The main purpose of the construction of this unusual road line is to provide an alternative way to transport passengers, which will be a convenient addition to river taxis, electric trains and buses.
An important expectation from the cable car was the desire to reduce energy costs at least 5 times less than the long-established road transport, but the cost should not exceed the level of prices for rail transport.
The start of construction and installation work was on January 20, 2010, and on February 9, 2012, the road was already launched in working mode.
