About the company:
The house where the Ural writer A.P. Bondin (1882-1939) lived and worked is a historical monument of regional significance. It was built in the second half of the XIX century. The building is typical for the wooden architecture of the XIX century of the Middle Urals. It consisted of two single-storey houses united by a roof. There were two apartments, one of which belonged to the Bondin family in 1935-1939.
In 1942, by the decision of the Nizhny Tagil City Executive Committee, a memorial plaque was installed on the house with the inscription: In this house lived and worked the Ural writer A. P. Bondin. 1882-1939”. Since then, the apartment where the widow and her sister lived became an unofficial museum. During the Great Patriotic War, Moscow writers M.S. Shaginyan, E.A. Permak, Leningrader V.P. Barmin, Sverdlovsk writers P.P. Bazhov, B.A. Dizhur, K.V. Bogolyubov, K.V. Rozhdestvenskaya, E.E. Khorinskaya, B.S. Ryabinin visited there. During all these years, A.P. Bondin’s widow, Alexander Samuilovna, carefully preserved the writer’s archive. In addition, biographical documents, photographs, memories of people who knew the writer were collected.
In 1982, on the centenary of the birth of A.P. Bondin, the museum building was renovated, a new exposition was built, the authors of which were T.N. Petrukhina, head of the department of literary and ethnographic expositions, and S.I. Petrova, head of the branch. In its reconstruction, the most active part was taken by the Nizhny Tagil branch of the railway (NOD-5), where the writer once worked.
In the memorial part – the Bondins’ house – the living environment of the living room and the writer’s office was recreated, in the former part of the neighbors a new exposition “The Life and Work of the Writer A.P. Bondin” and a stationary exhibition “The History of the Literary Life of Nizhny Tagil” were built. In 1993, the exposition was reconstructed, as a result of which two themes were expanded: the work of A.P. Bondin and the literary life of Nizhny Tagil. The author of the reconstruction is M.A. Boykova, head of the memorial and literary museum of A.P. Bondin.
The Museum of A.P. Bondin is one of the centers of literary life of Nizhny Tagil, since 1992 in its walls gather members of the literary studio "Steps", from which came a large number of talented poets. There is a children's literary living room. There are shifting exhibitions.
