The Museum of Local History of Novaya Ladoga carefully preserves the history of the provincial town founded in the XVIII century.
In 1949, under the guidance of a researcher of the Artillery Museum of Leningrad, the first exposition was opened.
Today, the museum is located in one of the houses of the middle of the XIX century, the former house of the merchant Timofeev. In this house in 1987. An exposition covering the activities of the Ladoga military flotilla was opened. The exposition of the second floor of the museum tells about the history of the city, the life of the merchant class. There are Suvorov Museum and exhibition halls.
