At different times our city was visited by Anton Pavlovich Chekhov and Alexey Maksimovich Gorky, revolutionary poet Demyan Poor and bard Vladimir Vysotsky. The future famous poet Elizaveta Kuzmina-Karavaeva (Mother Maria), then still Lizanka Pilenko, ran through our streets to the gymnasium. And the most famous Soviet writer Nikolai Ostrovsky met in our city the love of his life.
You will learn about this and much more on our excursion, we will also visit the memorial museum “House of Nikolai Ostrovsky” and the memorial room of writer Fyodor Gladkov in the Museum of Cement Industry.
