Novorossiysk (Tsemesskaya) Bay, Kabardinka, Russia

Description:

Tsemesskaya Bay (or Novorossiyskaya Bay) is located in the north of the Black Sea coast, its name is derived from the Tsemes River, which flows into it.

The length of the Tsemes Bay is 15 kilometers, the width at the entrance to it is nine, and the depth varies between 21 and 27 meters. The entrance to the bay from the north-western part is limited to Sudjuk Island, and from the south-eastern - Cape Doob. In the north-west of the bay are the seaport and the city of Novorossiysk, from which the second name of the reservoir originated.

In the eastern part of Novorossiysk Bay is the village of Kabardinka, which is subordinate to the administration of Gelendzhik. August 31, 1986 there was a collision of the ferry "Admiral Nakhimov" and the bulk carrier "Peter Vasev". A year later, at the scene of the accident, at Cape Doob, a sign was installed - a tribute to the dead crew members and passengers.
