Heroes' Square

Heroes Square in Novorossiysk is a kind of beginning of the city, a kind of reference point. It was from here that the city began to develop and grow in the first years of its existence - in the thirties of the 19th century.

Since then, the square has changed several names - it was both the Trading Square and the Primorsky Boulevard. And only in 1943, it was decided to rename the best square of the city in the Heroes' Square in memory of those killed in the Great Patriotic War. The memory of the heroes of the bloody war is immortalized in several monuments. On the square, surrounded by a shady square, stands the Memorial Wall, there is a mass grave, the Eternal Flame and several busts to the heroes.

Nowadays, solemn events are traditionally held here.
