The Student Sculpture
Description:
The sculpture “Student” is installed in Novorossiysk near the Industrial Technical School, which is within walking distance from the Central Market and the city administration. It appeared in the autumn of 2009. The author is the famous Sochi sculptor Hakob Khalafyan. He is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia.
The monument is a collective image of all students. Its appearance is unusual, reminiscent of the fashion of the 17th century, and causes a smile. The guy in a curly wig and round glasses is dressed in a strange robe. In his hands he holds a pile of books and an inkwell with a feather. Its prototype is a sculpture installed in front of the entrance to the Humanitarian Academy of Sochi.
A small monument was loved by citizens and guests of the city. Among the students of the technical school it has become a good tradition before the exam to rub the nose of a bronze student. After graduation, graduates are photographed with him.
