Historic crumbling
Description:
I invite you to a fascinating trip to the ancient Siberian village of Kolyvan, 60 km from Novosibirsk. The village is picturesquely spread on the hills above the valley of the Chaus River When the busy Moscow tract passed through Kolyvan, it developed rapidly. Various crafts flourished here, peasants supplied first-class products to the market. Kolyvan merchants conducted active trade with European countries. But with the construction of a railway bridge over the Ob 60 km upstream Kolyvan lost its historical significance, merchants moved to Novonikolaevsk, which later became Novosibirsk, and moved their capital there. Life stopped here. But thanks to such changes, the historical environment of the beginning of the last century has been preserved in Kolyvan, there are more than 30 architectural monuments of regional importance in intact form. We will walk along the smooth and wide streets of Kolyvan, visit the history museum in the restored mansion of the merchant Zhernakov, examine the masterpieces of wooden and stone architecture that have survived to this day. And at the end of the tour we will visit the famous women's monastery in the name of the holy orthodox Prince Alexander Nevsky, opened on the initiative and with the blessing of the Patriarch of All Russia Alexy II.
The tour lasts 7 hours and is designed for a group of up to 10 people, without children. Round trip by bus is additionally paid.
