The Church in the Name of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God

The Church in the name of the protection of the Most Holy Mother of God was consecrated on December 10, 1901. It was built on the basis of a wooden building of the house of prayer, which was moved to a new place and installed on a stone foundation. .

In 1906, thanks to the donations of Mashtakov merchants, the Intercession Church was expanded - a refectory and a bell tower were added to it, which was installed separately on wooden stilts.

In the 30s, like many others, the church was closed, and its premises were given to cultural institutions. The church building was badly disfigured: the bell tower and the drum with a tent roof were broken, the porch was dismantled, and the doorways were converted under the windows. At different times, this building housed a theater school, the Siberian folk choir and restoration workshops.

In 1994, the Pokrovsky Church was returned to the jurisdiction of the Novosibirsk diocese and in 1998 a plan was drawn up for the restoration of this historical architectural monument. From 2002 to 2007, work was carried out on the reconstruction of the church building, after which it was restored to its original appearance.
