Monument to Peter and Fevronia

91 Sovetskaya Street, Novosibirsk, Novosibirsk Region

Description:

The monument to Peter and Fevronia - the patrons of family happiness, love and loyalty - is installed on the territory of Narym Square near the Ascension Cathedral, in which an icon with a particle of the relics of these saints is stored.

Peter and Fevronia are the spouses who ruled in Murom in the 13th century, who became an example of loyalty and love for each other. When they were old, they accepted monasticism and died in the same day and hour.

The place for the monument was not chosen by chance - after the establishment of the holiday "Family Day", the square became a favorite place for family holidays. The author of the bronze composition, the base of which is made of marble, was the Moscow sculptor Konstantin Chernyavsky.
