River Chicken

In the Novosibirsk and Tomsk regions, the Chik River flows. The mouth of the river is located 6 kilometers on the right bank of the Oesh River. The channel passes close to 3300 kilometers of the Trans-Siberian Railway. The river is referred to the Upper Neobsk Basin District according to the state water register of Russia.

Hydronym came from the name of the tribe that lived on the banks of the river, or from the Turkic word “chik”, which means “face”, that is, the border river. River length: 114 kilometers, catchment area: 2740 square kilometers.
