Spartak is a magnificent multi-purpose stadium, which is one of the oldest sports facilities in Novosibirsk. It was built in the city center on the site of an ancient cemetery. For football matches, a wonderful field with high-quality artificial surface and heating is provided here. In addition, the stadium has treadmills, which are designed for athletics competitions. The buildings of Spartak include basketball and volleyball halls, as well as a court for playing tennis, fencing and many other sports.
The first significant renovation of the stadium took place two years after its opening, and in 1952 Spartak was closed for reconstruction, due to dilapidation and lack of funds for restoration. In 2004, professional sound equipment was installed here and the coating was replaced. In 2011, a new scoreboard was hung at the stadium. Novosibirsk football club Siberia trains at Spartak, and this place is often used for large-scale city events.
