Russia, Novosibirsk, Garin-Mikhailovsky Square
Description:
The Novosibirsk metro station Garin-Mikhailovsky Square is located under the square of the same name, named after the Russian writer and engineer, who is considered one of the founders of the city. The station was built in 1987 to provide transport links between the city and the railway station. This is a three-span column station of shallow laying with two lobbies, made according to a typical project.
The design of the station was created by architects Popov and Katayev. The most notable feature of the interior of the station are spherical niche domes in its ceiling with small round lamps installed in them. The walls of the station are lined with beige-pink Koelgin marble, and round columns with light gray marble. Above the entrance to the platform is a decorative metal panel with a relief image of the coat of arms of Novosibirsk against the background of urban areas.
