Novosibirsk State Museum of Local Lore
Novosibirsk region, Novosibirsk, Krasny Proct., 23
About the company:
The local history museum is located in the building, which is an architectural monument of federal significance, the City Commercial Corps.
The ground floor is occupied by the permanent exhibition “Siberia in Antiquity”, representing the life and beliefs of the indigenous peoples of Siberia. The main idea of the exposition is not to show the chronological development of individual peoples of Siberia, but to give a comprehensive picture of the life of entire regions: nomadic herders in the south of Siberia, farmers in the valleys of the Ob and Yenisei, hunters and fishermen in the taiga zones, reindeer herders in the Far North. The development of these cultures (from the Paleolithic to ethnographic modernity) is traced in the halls.
On the first floor there is an exposition “History of the Novosibirsk region”. The halls reflected key events of national and local importance, demonstrated the features of everyday life of the population and the influence of wartime. Special attention is paid to outstanding natives and residents of the region. In the exposition you can see personal belongings and photos of engineer Nikolai Tikhomirov, teacher Klavdia Polyanskaya, Hero of the Soviet Union Georgy Baidukov, architect Andrei Kryachkov, three times Hero of the Soviet Union Alexander Pokryshkin, academician Mikhail Lavrentiev and others.
The second floor is reserved for temporary exhibitions.
